My sketch commissions are...DONE!!

With your help I was able to raise $1000 to benefit the Maryland Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge.  The super plungers start jumping into the now icy waters of the Chesapeake tomorrow and will continue for 24 straight hours.  INSANE!

Thank you to each of you who contributed and who bought a commission or 20 or so...You guys are the best!  Without you, I wouldn't have been able to get that far.

So, I say this, if you ordered a sketch and didn't get it, you didn't send an email to nanookcommissions@gmail.com

I'm fairly certain that I took care of everyone who sent in money as I cross referenced everything with my emails.

I did a design for the con Fur-The-More  I'll upload it when the con either says I can or once the con is over.  If you haven't checked it out, please do.  Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend that con, but there's MORE good news...I'm an artist for Bronycon  I recently joined their ranks and await my first assignment.  I have also been very curious to see a true Pony Con, so this'll be an adventure.  They didn't tell me I couldn't tell anyone about this, but I wouldn't ask me anything specific.  I hope to see many of you at the con!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Just dropping a note to let everyone know I have 2 commissions to finish! They just need colors, all have been drawn, approved and inked. In the mean time, I wanted to get started on the charity commissions for the MARYLAND SPECIAL OLYMPICS!

Last year you guys helped me raise an amazing $650 for the charity. I would like to try and do better this year. I won't stop until I've at least met that goal, but I would like to get close.

Here's what you need to do if you want to get in on this:

100% of the proceeds from this will be going to the Maryland Special Olympics for the Polar Bear Plunge that happens at the end of January.

I will be streaming commissions every night, as long as I can until it's done.

You can clearly see my style is Toony and for $5 each, don't expect too much depth.

What you get is a file containing ONE character sketch. I can draw Ponies MLP, Chipmunks/Chipettes, any toon you want (I don't draw humans well... )

Children of the Night (MLP Animation Project)

GARI is in this!! She's the one on the far right!  I'm really excited for this project.  When I was at OTAKON today, I was telling folks about this project.  There's a lot of buzz around it in the Brony-dom!

[link] is the blog.  Regularly Spirit and Lion post updates to it, and i can't tell you how amazed I am by it.  The final product is going to be stunning.

So guys, there was this contest on FACEBOOK hosted by Hasbro and My Little Pony to design a pony that would be made into a BIG figurine.  Well, I entered and guess what!?  




I didn't win.




BUT...I did make it into the top 10!  How exciting right??  Well, it turns out that this year at San Diego Comic Con 2012 they made an awesome poster displaying the top 10 finalists!

A couple of friends of mine and have embarked on an insane project.  They are telling a beautiful, haunting tale of the First Nightmare Night.  The song "Children Of The Night" (commonly known from the Hocus Pocus movie) is an eerie, haunting and yet somehow playful tune by which Luna sets to her shadowy duty.

I have had the pleasure of having my own ponysona included in the project.  Gari (short Cougari's pony form) is included along with 11 other adorable foals.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, my husband and I had to make a very tough decision today.  Nanook, my dog, for whom all my online art accounts are named, has passed away today.  He was 13 and a half years old.  He was 3 when we got him from my Sister and Brother in Law, when my husband and I were newly weds.  We were unsure if we could care for such a crazy rambunctious over the top clown faced pup, but from the very first night, we were hooked and didn't look back.  My Husband and I don't have kids, so for us, Nanook very much was our child.  He means more to us than most people.  

Friday after his walk, he just seemed very sluggish.  We let him rest, but around 5 am on Saturday, the poor guy couldn't walk.  We woke to the sounds of clattering objects he was knocking over.  We went to the PET ER nearby where he was diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease)  Most small dogs can make a come back from it through expensive surgery, but he was there for the same thing a year ago, only then we didn't know it was that (commonly misdiagnosed as displaysia (SP) and arthritis).  We took him home on Saturday and made him comfortable, then we went out to get a bite to eat, since he was still rather sedate and wasn't moving, we assumed he'd be OK.  When we got home, he was dragging himself to the kitchen to get his water, but his back legs still weren't moving.  It wasn't long after that we realized that he was fully paralyzed from the waist down.  He was eating fine, drinking fine, but he couldn't take care of 'business'.  He couldn't stand up without toppling over, he couldn't move his rear legs at all.  My husband and I talked about it for a long time, as we did not sleep Saturday or Sunday night at all.  Nanook cried all night both nights even under the heavy medication for the pain.  We went back and forth over options and could not find one that would have a good positive outlook for him that wouldn't A) Bankrupt us or B) Be fair to him.  

The decision to let him go wasn't based on money or the hard work it would be to care for him.  Those things, he had unconditionally.  It was based on how much we love him.  It was based on the quality of life he would have.  He didn't deserve it...He was a good boy; he was my baby dog, and I miss him and will always miss him.  I will never forget him.  He had a smile, a genuine look in his eyes and always loved me back.  Rest in piece my fuzzy angel; I will see you again some day.

Anyone waiting on a commission from me, I am working on them.  Getting through slowly but surely.  85%of them are into ink!  Just need to sit and color for like three days straight LOL.  I'm getting them done for you!

Hi there everyone,

Here's a bit of an update to let you know how I'm doing lately.  I've had a cold for the last week, which has had me under the weather.  I did a few doodles in OC which I've posted up here, and am currently sketching the last of my model sheet work so I can begin inking and coloring.  

My Boss banned all of the internets that aren't work related at my work, which was expected, but none-the-less demoralizing.  I use twitter frequently during the day from my phone, so you can catch up there if you want!  my twitter name is nanook1234 .

There are still about 3 weeks to preorder your Cougari Plush.  Some of you already had, but not nearly as many as had expressed interest in her before I ordered her.  Status on her, I received pictures of her all tagged up, the whole shipment ready to come to me.  I ordered shipping cartons, I finished making the print that will only be an exclusive with the plush preorders and just need to make sure I have enough postage ready to get them all mailed out.  I thank everyone who's ordered one so far, and if you want to order yours go to store. animatedvisions.com OR go to www.animatedvisions.com and click on 'store' once you get past the splash screen.
