Hope everyone's holiday was nice! I'm getting ready to start sending out Xmas cards, so if anyone would like one, note me with your address and I'll try to send you one! This year's card is quite an undertaking as there are a few characters in it. I have asked permission of all my friends to use their characters on it. I will post WIPS as they become available, but my goal is to send them out by next Saturday, so you have until then to get me your address.

NOT CUT BECAUSE I DONT CARE WHO READS THIS!

I’ve heard about enough on the subject of ‘cub porn’ on FA and what it means to us as a furry community. The furry community as a whole already has a tainted look by the rest of the world, what with all the furry fetishes going on. If you don’t know what a furry fetish is, it’s simple: Anthros depicted in situations involving vore, gore, inflation, micro/macro, paw, zoophiles, baby, S&M, bondage, Yaoi (girl on girl?), Yiff (boy on boy?), and whatever sick little thing you can think of, and NOW NOW, we’re pedophiles too! Great, JUST FREAKING GREAT!! So perfectly normal people, like 90% of the furry fandom, who are good, law abiding, upstanding citizens in the community and that are NOT sexual deviants are being lumped in with perverts and potential criminals. FREAKING SPECTACULAR!!!

I had a rant sometime ago about DA Horrors that said to let people be, draw what they want and whatever. I believe that and still stick to that until the issue arose on FA about “Cub Porn”. Cub porn (NOT ART as I’ve heard other refer to it as) is taking this whole; let them be thing, TOO FAR. My opinion, which I have voiced in a number of forums and probably will be hated at for it now, but MY OPINION is: If it can be dreamed up by someone, chances are that they will probably try it, or have tried it or WANT BADLY TO TRY IT at some point. I say this as some people (the 10% that taint the whole community, don’t know how to distinguish fiction from reality)

My opinion on the matter is also biased, as I was a victim of this kind of abuse as a child. I am a grown woman now, and also know that NOW my decisions are my own, and I cannot blame what happened to me then in regards to what’s going on now.

I’ve read that FA is allowing this kind of thing because the characters featured are NOT real. I can’t see how they can rationalize it that way. It was my understanding that a fursona is a furry manifestation of the self, meaning you put yourself or attributes of yourself into your furry character. If this is in fact the case, then could it also be said that if the drawing is of your fursona doing something of a sexual nature with a character that looks like a minor or YOUR character IS the minor that there is some underlying psychological dysfunction going on there? I can get past the other ‘fetishes’ because that’s what they are, fetishes, but anything involving a child is WRONG, fictional or not. If you’re going to allow adult art on your site, the fetishes come along standard, basically, BUT CHILD PORN (which is what it is, it’s NOT art if it involves a child) IS CROSSING THE LINE!

I’ve also heard the argument of “STFU. Don’t like it don’t click it.” Hell, I’ve made that argument about people crying about the other fetishes. BUT as I justified earlier, ANYTHING INVOLVING A CHILD, FICTIONAL OR NOT, IS SICK AND WRONG!!

I’ve read that Americans are too touchy, and that if this form of expression is banned, then so should the others, well to those folks I say: YES we Americans are touchy. Think about it like this, if you had a kid, who just signed up to FA would you want them to see this kind of smut on the net??? Would you want your work, YOU the self respecting, law abiding citizen that you are, would you want YOUR WORK ASSOCIATED WITH THIS GARBAGE??? I know that parents as a whole should take control over what their kids view on the internet, but BUT, when filters aren’t being used/working properly, when links to other sites point to this, when the EYES of the world are on you, what kind of impression do we as a community want to leave? We, as a society are a JUDGEMENTAL people. We look at things and we say, I like that, OR, I hate that, OR I’m indifferent. In that instant we have passed judgment on that particular piece/article/what-have-you. We are ALL critics of something or another.

I’ve seen people leaving FA over this and to them I say, “HEAR HEAR!! Congratulations, you guys have MORALS!! You should be proud.” For those that stay, good for you for sticking to your guns. FA should be ashamed of itself for allowing this kind of thing (CUB PORN) to continue. There is a distinct difference between fetish and morally unsound, between kinky and criminal. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

Is this the legacy you want to leave for the furry community?? DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO THINK WE’RE ALL KID FUCKING FREAKS, FREAKS IN GENERAL AND SEXUAL DEVIANTS?? It’s ridiculous that that even needed to be said. While some may argue that your characters are NOT real, to me, they are manifestations in some way of the person that created them, and AS SUCH should be treated as you would want to treat yourself. I find it repulsive to think that any one would want their character, young or old, to have sex with or be harmed in anyway in conjunction with a child like cub!! It’s CRIMINAL TO HAVE PICTURES OF HUMAN CHILDREN DOING THIS STUFF ON YOUR COMPUTER; the same should be said for fictional anthro characters. Besides, anthropomorphic creatures are animals with HUMAN-LIKE attributes, are they NOT?

I’ve heard people calling those that are leaving the FA community, whiners, babies, and the like, because they didn’t get their way, and that this ‘free expression’ of art (as they call it) is just the American way. OUR FOREFATHERS ARE TURNING OVER IN THEIR GRAVES PEOPLE!! The founding fathers of THIS nation, of AMERICA, did NOT intend for it to be legal OR lawful to have the children, WHICH ARE THE BACKBONE OF OUR FUTURE!!, to have our CHILDREN exploited in this fashion!!

Fictional or NOT anthro children have feelings too. I mean, you can’t abort a fetus that may or may not be viable without being scrutinized to the fullest extent of the society, because LIFE IS LIFE (regardless if it’s actually alive by medical terms), I learned that from Religion XD (a whole other argument) If you can’t abort a fetus because it may or may not be viable because it is a LIFE (or maybe), then you shouldn’t be able to create an image of fictional characters doing bad stuff to child fictional characters because it may or may not be a means of communicating a fantasy that may or may not be real. (Whew, went a long way for that one!)

To summarize this whole thing:

Fetish Anthro Art is fine, not my cup of tea, but it’s free expression, until it involves children(or cubs), then to me, it’s personal AND criminal.

Fetish art is not my cup of tea, so I don’t allow myself to indulge on it, so I let them be. BUT CHILD PORN IS WRONG so CUB PORN (NOT) ART IS WRONG! PERIOD END OF FUCKING STORY!
